MORE THAN JUST A STORY

We equip children and families with
science-backed tools to interrupt cycles of adversity, emotional strain,
and substance misuse early on.

Lambi Learns helps children build resilience,
regulate emotions,
and develop lifelong coping skills
in a way that feels gentle, supportive, and empowering.

WHY LAMBI

Difficult experiences and stress don’t just go away—they shape a child’s brain and future. Without intervention, unresolved trauma can alter brain function, weaken emotional regulation,
and increases long-term stress responses.

Author Trish Luna wrote Lambi to help children feel seen, understood, and supported—and to provide accessible coping tools they can carry into the future. After her own family struggled without support, she created the resource she wished had existed for them.

OUR APPROACH IS DIFFERENT

Unlike traditional drug prevention programs that rely on fear-based tactics,
Lambi Learns focuses on early intervention, emotional resilience, and fostering healthy brain development.

At the heart of Lambi Learns
is a simple truth:

When kids feel safe, understood, and empowered, they thrive.

“Not long ago, my seven-year-old niece lost her mother to an overdose. She was given the Lambi book plush. After reading the story while holding Lambi she said, “Lambi understands just how I feel… and I know Lambi will listen to all my problems with those big ears.”

In that moment, I saw the power of Lambi—as a source of comfort, connection, and healing.”

“Lambi is a source of comfort for many children impacted by substance use in their homes and communities. It helps them feel less alone and gives them tools to stay safe and begin to heal. When I visit schools, children ask, “Is Lambi coming today?” As a former drug-endangered child myself, I only wish I’d had something like this growing up.”
